Esapekka Lappi is a member of the Finnish AKK-Motorsport ry association’s Driver Academy, known for its top-notch coaches, and involved in a development programme for Norwegian EvenRally. The long-term objective of the latter is to get Lappi signed as a factory team driver by one of the WRC rally teams. Lappi will compete in the 2012 season with a Super 2000 class 4WD Ford Fiesta. In addition to the Finnish Championships, the season includes a couple of international rally events. The actual events will be named later, depending on the driver team’s progress.

“I have taken a huge leap forward in my career by switching to true 4WD rally cars. We have had plenty of opportunities to test the new car. I have much to learn now. We have not set any goals for this season, but we must naturally develop in all areas in order to advance in our careers,” comments Lappi, who was born and raised in Naarajärvi, Finland.

“We will have an interesting and challenging season. Our strong team and important partners have offered us a great career opportunity that we humbly accept and intend to put to full use,” a determined Lappi continues.
