THL initiated cooperation with Savo Vocational College, Finnish Forest Industries Federation and Ponsse to increase the number of women in the forest sector

The aim of the Dismantling Segregation project carried out by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) and the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health is to dismantle gender segregation in working life. The project aims to increase the number of women in the forest sector together with Savo Vocational College, Finnish Forest Industries Federation and Ponsse. The project offers training and tools for partners to dismantle gender segregation in the forest sector. At the same time, the aim is to strengthen regional cooperation in Eastern Finland. 

Ponsse is one of Finland’s most reputable listed companies

According to the survey conducted by the Finnish Shareholders’ Association, the Finnish Foundation for Share Promotion and T-Media, the most reputable listed companies in 2022 are Kone, Ponsse and Vaisala. The survey evaluated the reputation of 81 listed companies in the eyes of Finnish private investors.

Ponsse to demonstrate new solutions at FinnMETKO 2022

The 19th FinnMETKO exhibition will be held in Jämsä, Finland on 1–3 September 2022. Finland’s largest professional and sales exhibition area in the heavy-duty machine industry will cover more than 200 hectares, both indoors and outdoors. Ponsse will have an impressive presence at FinnMetko with its various new products.

The carbon footprint of each product in Ponsse’s new clothing collection has been calculated

Ponsse is launching a new clothing collection, in which the carbon footprint has been calculated for each product. The collection is designed together with clothing brand Finsket, and its products are made in Kokkola using renewable energy.

Ponsse launches new technology: an electric forest machine

Ponsse and Epec are introducing the PONSSE EV1, an electric forest machine technology concept. While the forest machine will be commercially available later, Epec’s technology can already be used in electric or hybrid-electric commercial vehicles and non-road mobile machines. Ponsse’s technological concept is a peek into the future, paving the way for technological development and sustainable harvesting solutions.

Forest machine data easily available to customers

Ponsse provides sustainable harvesting solutions by listening to customer needs, and it also aims to lead the way in the development of digital services. Ponsse has launched the PONSSE Data API service, on which customers can easily and cost-effectively use data obtained from forest machines directly in their reporting and enterprise resource planning systems.

Einari Vidgrén Foundation rewards forestry professionals

The Einari Vidgrén Foundation has rewarded forestry professionals for the 17th time. The Einari Award, the Einari Vidgrén Foundation’s key recognition, was granted to Kalle and Hanna Pitkänen from Koneteko Pitkänen. Lifetime achievement awards were given to Esa Mikkonen and Tuomas Ramlin. The award ceremony was held in Rientola in Vieremä on 1 June.  

Ponsse’s new products for responsible forestry

Ponsse launches excellent new products to improve productivity in sustainable harvesting. The new solutions have been developed together with customers, listening to their needs. The PONSSE Scorpion Giant harvester and the PONSSE Mammoth forwarder respond to the highest requirements of modern forestry both in terms of ergonomics and productivity.   “These new products strengthen our position as one of the world’s leading suppliers of responsible harvesting solutions. The development of both new forest machines started from improved ergonomics, safety and usability, as well as better visibility from the cabin. We believe that we succeeded very well in this, and we are delighted to demonstrate these new products to our customers today here in Surahammar in Sweden,” says Marko Mattila, Sales, Marketing and Service Director at Ponsse.

Ponsse manufactures its 18,000th forest machine

The 18,000th PONSSE forest machine was completed at Ponsse’s factory in Vieremä. After its handover, the PONSSE Elk will be operated by VMC Bois in France.

PONSSE Scorpion Future Cabin received the internationally acclaimed iF DESIGN AWARD 2022

Since 1954, the iF DESIGN AWARD has been an internationally recognised indication of excellent design and one of the world’s most prestigious design awards. The iF brand is internationally recognised as the symbol of design excellence. The award winners will be celebrated at the iF DESIGN AWARD NIGHT 2022 event at Friedrichstadt-Palast in Berlin in Germany on Monday, 16 May 2022.

PONSSE Scorpion’s Future Cabin received the Fennia Prize design award

One of the most significant design awards in Finland was given to PONSSE Scorpion’s Future Cabin. In addition to Ponsse, Fennia Prize recognitions were given to Posti Group Corporation, Nokian Heavy Tyres Ltd and Myssyfarmi Oy.
