Matti Pitkänen Appointed Internal Auditor at Ponsse

Mr Matti Pitkänen, aged 50, M. Econ., M. Eng., has been appointed Internal
Auditor at Ponsse Oyj. Pitkänen will be responsible for the implementation and
development of group internal audit activities. He will assume his duties in
September 2006 and will report directly to the President and CEO.

Starting in 1979, Pitkänen has worked in paper machinery design and sales, as a
group internal auditor for the forest machinery, tractor, cardboard and paper
business units, and CFO of Metso Drives at the Metso Group (previously known as
Valmet) in Jyväskylä. He has also served as Pricing Manager of Valmet-Dominion,
Inc in Montréal, Canada. Pitkänen comes to Ponsse from Moventas Oy where he
served as Controller with primary responsibility for risk and insurance
management.
