Ponsse plans an investment in its Vieremä factory

PONSSE PLC PRESS RELEASE 26 FEBRUARY 2026 AT 09:00 AM EET

Forest machine manufacturer Ponsse is planning to strengthen its Vieremä factory’s productivity and capabilities through an investment of approximately ten million euros.

The company aims to expand the facilities used for welding operations and invest in production technology, machining and automation. The planned extension for welding operations will cover approximately 1,300 square metres.

“This is a significant investment for us. The extension and related production equipment will improve our production’s flexibility and efficiency, strengthening our strategy and capability of manufacturing the main components of our forest machines in-house. By investing in machining and welding automation, we are also improving the company’s risk tolerance,” says Tommi Väänänen, COO at Ponsse.

The project is currently in the planning phase, and its schedule will be specified as the spring progresses.
