Ponsse’s strong presence continues in Norway

Ponsse’s strong presence continues in Norway
Norway has long been an important market for Ponsse, and the company continues to develop in customer service, aftermarket operations and local support across the country.

At the FinnMetko exhibition in Finland this September, Ponsse highlighted the importance of the Nordic markets and its long-term commitment to the region. According to Area Vice President Jaakko Laurila, Norway holds an important position within Ponsse's Nordic operations and remains an important area for customer support and service development.

This was further demonstrated by the strong Norwegian presence at FinnMetko, where a group of more than 30 Norwegian customers joined the event to explore the latest innovations, meet industry colleagues, and strengthen their partnership with Ponsse.

“Norway has a long forestry tradition and strong expertise across the industry. We are committed to supporting our customers with high-quality service and local expertise,” says Jaakko Laurila.

Several ongoing initiatives across Norway

In recent years, demand for technical support, training and spare parts availability has increased as forestry machines have become more advanced and uptime has become increasingly important for contractors' profitability. To meet these needs, Ponsse is carrying out several initiatives across Norway.

One of the most significant initiatives is the ongoing renovation of the company's facility in Kongsvinger, where the majority of Ponsse employees in Norway are based. The project aims especially to prepare the facilities for better spare parts supply and logistics across Norway while improving the working environment for both customers and staff.

At the same time, Ponsse plans to establish its own aftermarket operations in Western Norway later this year. The objective is to strengthen local support and improve accessibility for customers in some of the country's most active harvesting regions.

"Our ambition is to further improve the level of service in all active harvesting regions of Norway. Being close to our customers is an important part of that work," Laurila says.

Alongside these developments, Ponsse has also strengthened its Norwegian organization with several new employees.

Jim Erik Sørlie has recently joined the company as Spare Parts Manager, responsible for developing and managing the spare parts operation.

Tom Sundby has taken the lead in Service department and will bring his great professional experience to develop high quality customer service in Norway.
Long distances and difficult conditions also cause many challenges for local service partners and logistics, and our goal is to strongly develop the operations of our service partner network in different parts of Norway. Skilled service partners play an important role in Ponsse's operations.

"We hope the Kongsvinger event will become a natural meeting place for the Norwegian forestry sector annually in future. It is an excellent opportunity to meet customers, contractors, and partners and discuss the topics that are important for the industry's future," says Jaakko Laurila.
