PONSSE GROUP TO INCREASE INVESTMENTS IN THE CONTROL SYSTEMS BUSINESS

Ponsse Oyj will sell its information systems unit based in Kajaani to Epec
Oy of Seinäjoki which Ponsse acquired in December 2004. The said unit has
been manufacturing all control and information systems for Ponsse forest
machines. The new company formed through the sale of the business will
employ over a hundred electronics and software experts.

The new company will cater for the needs of leading off-road machinery
manufacturers on a global basis. Epec Oy designs and manufactures state-of-
the-art control systems for moving machines and machine combinations in co-
operation with growing and development-oriented machine and equipment
manufacturers. It will be a major expert in demanding control and
information systems for off-road machinery offering comprehensive solutions
to its current and future customers. Current customers include leading
machinery manufacturers in the mining, mineral crushing, waste treatment
and forest machine sectors. As a result of the transaction notified today,
Ponsse will also become a customer of Epec Oy.
