Ponsse to have a new retailer in Brazil

Ponsse Plc and Timber Forest Equipamentos have signed a retail agreement on the sale and maintenance of PONSSE forest machines and equipment in Brazil. Timber Forest operates in the three southernmost states of Brazil: Parana, Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. In other states, PONSSE services are provided by Ponsse Latin America Ltda.

Operating under Rodoparana, Timber Forest Equipamentos is a forest machine company which started operations in 2001 by focusing on various harvester and felling head solutions installed on track-based forest machines. The company offers its services through its service centres. It has successfully increased its market share and customer base within its operating area.

According to Jober Fonseca, General Manager of Timber Forest, PONSSE products provide the company with a good opportunity to be part of the development of modern and environmentally friendly cut-to-length harvesting in Brazil.

Jarmo Vidgrén, Sales and Marketing Director of Ponsse Plc, says that cooperation with Timber Forest is an excellent opportunity to respond to the increased demand for PONSSE machines in southern Brazil. “We are now better able to serve local customers. PONSSE products, together with the maintenance network of Timber Forest, offer an attractive option for harvesting companies that are looking for productive and cost-efficient harvesting solutions,” Jarmo Vidgrén says.

Ponsse's Brazilian subsidiary Ponsse Latin America Ltda was established in 2005. In recent years, the company has focused on the development of maintenance solutions and training services for local customers.  Teemu Raitis acts as the company's Managing Director.
