Features of PONSSE 550, 650 and 750

LOAD SENSING VALVE BLOCK

The load-sensing valve block and arm pressure control are especially designed for excavator application. Continuous adjustment of compression pressures of the PONSSE 550-750 series harvester head knives and rollers and the load sensing main valve reduce energy consumption, improve the temperature balance and reduce operating costs.

FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE (4WD)

Four-wheel drive for harsh timber and hardwood debarking requires more feeding power. 4WD is used in demanding forest operations. The combination of 4WD together  with the patented measuring wheel system situated in the back roller arm makes debarking on slopes possible as well.

OPTIMISED CUTTING EFFECT

Cutting effect is optimised according to the diameter of the stem with the help of the saw bar feeding system and load-sensing hydraulics. This prevents cutting cracks even with maximum diameter of the stem. The automatic cutting mode of the computer speeds up  the whole operation. The optional automatic saw chain tensioner increases productivity as well.

ROLLER ARM  GEOMETRY

The unique main feed roller arm geometry creates parallel-moving feeding rollers. This ensures fast gripping, good support for stems and effective feed, even with maximum diameter of the stem.

REACTION BAR

The reaction bar balances movement of the front knives and provides optimal efficiency when picking up a log from the ground or pile. It also makes delimbing of crooked stems easier.

FRAME STRUCTURE

The frame structure is strong, simple and service friendly.
