Superior driveability
The 10-wheeled configuration optimises the machine's weight distribution in comparison to a traditional machine; the surface pressure is almost the same at full load. The three pairs of wheels situated under the load bring about several benefits for working and driving comfort. The increased track surface situated under the load prevents sideward swinging and therefore stabilises both loading and unloading. The centre of gravity remains low and the points of support (outer edges of the tracks) are wide apart. According to the tests, thanks to the increased area of tracks touching the ground, the 10-wheeled forwarder performs well in situations where extreme pulling capacity is needed, and the front end does not start to rise at all, which has been a typical problem in certain extreme situations. The improved manoeuvrability also allows faster driving speeds. The wider and longer area formed by the wheels and the track stays nicely on the bearing surface, which decreases rolling resistance. As soon as the machine starts to sink in a softer spot, the rear end formed by the third pair of wheels becomes active and keeps the rear end on the bearing surface. The agile unit with a great carrying capacity is also ideal for crossing ditches, which means that ditches don't need to be filled so often anymore. As the third pair of wheels located behind the rear bogie is smaller than the wheels situated on the bogies, the long track mat does not restrict the turning radius. The 10-wheeled machine is very agile and easy to manoeuvre.
