PONSSE forest machines feature outstanding performance, thanks to Ponsse’s basic OptiControl Forwarder system and an electronically controlled diesel engine. OptiControl integrates all aspects of the machine’s operation – control of the crane, levers and buttons, drive transmission and diesel engine – into one easily managed whole.
The smoothly integrated efficiency of the mechanical, hydraulic, electronic and software technologies renders machine control precise and cost-efficient.
Operators can input their personal control settings through the Opti4G system and activate them for their work shifts. The OptiControl system also reduces fuel consumption and only draws as much power from the engine as is needed.
OptiForwarder - Forwarder PC system
PONSSE forwarders can be integrated into the wood procurement management system by furnishing them with a high-performance Opti PC system and OptiForwarder software. This enables nearby transport to be planned and implemented and roadside storages monitored almost in real-time.
The software includes the OptiControl machine control system with operator profiles and data transfer and reporting programs. In addition, a map or data transfer application specific to a forest company or the PONSSE Opti-Map Forwarder map program with GPS positioning can be connected to the system.
Time and efficiency tracking is a standard feature in PONSSE forwarders equipped with personal computers. The system collects information on time distribution, production, machine operation and fuel consumption.
The operator logs onto the system at the beginning of the work shift.
As the work progresses, the program automatically collects information, asking the reasons for breaks separately, where desired. The operator can read all of the reports on the display. The program produces DRF report files read using the OptiReport program in the forwarder and the office.
OptiGis Forwarder - Forwarder map program
A PONSSE forwarder with Opti-PC can be furnished with the OptiGis Forwarder map application, which together with the GPS positioning device shows the real-time location of the machine in the stand. This facilitates work and improves safety, as the system warns the operator when the machine is approaching a power line or some other area that should be avoided.
